The Leland of Laurel Run is an affordable assisted living and memory care solution for the residents of Cumberland Valley but for veterans who are unable to afford these services there is assistance available through Veterans Affairs.
Veterans who require assistance to pay for assisted living services can utilize the Aid & Attendance pension.
Aid & Attendance is part of an increased monthly pension available through Veterans Affairs. The A&A pension is designed to help veterans and their surviving spouses who require the assistance of another person to complete daily tasks like dressing, eating, bathing and more. Those veterans who are bedridden, blind or are a patient in a nursing home due to mental or physical incapacity also qualify for A&A. The assisted living services received at The Leland qualify for the Aid & Attendance pension and as a result, the VA outsources directly to The Leland.
The lengthy application for the Aid & Attendance pension can often be overwhelming for our residents and their families to complete, that is why the knowledgeable staff at The Leland are happy to offer assistance in the completion and submission of the application for those residents who qualify.
