Reducing the Cost of Care for Veterans

The Leland of Laurel Run offers affordable assisted living and memory care options for residents in the Cumberland Valley area. However, for veterans who may struggle to afford these services, assistance is accessible through Veterans Affairs.

Veterans in need of financial support for assisted living can turn to the Aid & Attendance pension program. This program provides additional funds to help cover the costs of assisted living services for eligible veterans.

What is Aid & Attendance?

What is Aid & Attendance?

The Aid & Attendance pension, offered through Veterans Affairs, provides an increased monthly pension to veterans and their surviving spouses who require assistance with daily tasks such as dressing, eating, bathing, and more. Eligibility extends to veterans who are bedridden, blind, or residing in a nursing home due to mental or physical incapacity.

At The Leland, the assisted living services provided qualify for the Aid & Attendance pension. Consequently, the VA directly outsources funds to The Leland to support eligible veterans in accessing these essential care services.
